"The Collaborators"
Radio 4, Sunday, 15th July, 1.30 pm

'The percussionist Evelyn Glennie and the jazz saxophonist and composer Barbara Thompson have been working together on a dynamic piece of music called Rhythms Of The Gods. Jazz critic Dave Gelly talks to them both about their collaboration. Evelyn, who has been described as being like a lynx prowling its lair when she's on stage behind her drums, comes from a background in classical music but has no problems weaving her percussion in with Barbara's jazz fusion. The music - and we hear a good chunk of it - is impressive.'
